Orion is a true wooly miniature donkey jack. He has long hair over 9 inches long, masses of it and he has not shed this summer at 16 months old. He has the longest, thickest hair we have seen, the result of generations of selection for long hair to get this quality. With good conformation and a gentle temperament, this jack will take our woolly breeding program forward.

We kept a number of our Santana and Fiftyfire daughters, and went looking for a new jack to breed them to. Gunner fit the bill. We liked him very well as a two year old, and even better as a three year old, when we bought him. This jack is blocky, compact, with good bone. He has a great temperament, and was pastured last summer with jennets with foals. We are looking forward to his foals this summer (2011).

We are excited to start working with this little jack. A grandson of our herdsire, Fiftyfire, and sired by the well respected Red Jet. King of Hearts has an exceptionally fluid movement, and carries his head alertly. He has a a smooth, well muscled body. He has a willing and gentle temperament. He is red, with lots of white highlights. He is an exciting jack, and we are expecting his first foals, arriving in the spring of 2009, to be exceptional.

We have several wooly miniature donkey jennets, and went looking for a wooly jack to breed them to. This fellow caught our eye in the field. He had a familiar look, and when we realized he was half brother to our beautiful Apple Blossom, we just knew he would work out for us. Musketeer trained very quickly, and has a mellow temperament, which is one of our breeding priorities. He is very stocky, with spots that work well with his long hair. We will breed him to our Harry Houdini daughters, along with a few of our miniature donkey jennets that seem to carry some of the long haired traits.

We love this jack. He is built so straight and smooth. One of the best jacks ever born on this farm. We like him more every time we see him. Wonderful conformation, and good bone. Rembrandt has everything we all love in the Miniature Donkeys: the striking white belly, nose and eye rings, and a nice cross as well, all to highlight his rich dark color. We are excited about the cross of this paternal line, Black Knight and the superb foals he has produced, with the strong maternal line of Cocoa. He is half brother to Perfect Black, Black Satin, Precious Jewel, and other wonderful donkeys through his sire. And half brother to Hedy Lamar, Mona Lisa, and Michelangelo through the maternal line. He has a very nice temperament as well, mellow, easily trainable and a gentle breeder. His first foals have been born, and they are straight, black, and everything we expected, and more!

This spring we bought this beautiful spotted jack, the grandson of one of our brood jennets, Heather. He measured just under 31" in May, and has a great build. He has a wide chest, round hip, short back, nice top line, good legs, perfect teeth, and a pretty head. He carries himself with a heads up alert expression, and has a friendly personality. Geronimo has a 50/50 spot pattern, with the large, bold spots we like. He has symmetrical cheek patches, and full mascara both eyes. He has a dark spot on the bridge of his nose. The color comes well up his legs, and from behind he looks like he is wearing white shorts, with gaithers. He has a flaxen tipped long tail, which catches the light. The jennets have liked him from the very first day, and he already has some comfirmed in foal. We are excited about this jack, and think he will give us some gorgeous bold spotted foals. Look for his first foals in 2009!
