Land Pride AT2572 - 72 in Air Tunnel Finish-Grooming Mower, 50% of New Cost
This Land Pride Air Tunnel (AT2572) 72 inch grooming mower in excellent condition. Land Pride leads the pack with a combination of superb mowing quality, structural strength and easy to adjust / use features. There is no comparing this mower with a cheap, lightly built Italian Caroni, King Cutter, Tractor Supply type, etc. finishing mower. Land Pride is a division of Great Plains who manufactures quality farm equipment.
The high clearance air tunnel design on this mower is superior to a rear discharge grooming mower in its ability to lift grass and discharge it even in wet, rugged, tall grass conditions. The AT2572’s deck is 3 / 16 inch thick, the same as on my 10 foot pasture mower. The blades are 1 / 4 inch thick and have a blade tip speed of 15,500 RPM at 540 tractor PTO RPM. The entire deck is supported from a steel, integrated, welded overhead rolling frame with greaseable wheel bearings, equipped with floating hitches and top links to absorb shocks. The deck has a 15-50 HP cast iron gearbox and has the blade spindles in cast iron hubs for long wear. Fits Class 1 - 3 point hitch.
You are buying this from the original owner and the only operator of this mower. From the pictures, you can see that this has been well cared for. The mower was used primarily on yard areas. It was never used as a bush hog. This mower has always been stored inside, never left out. The mower has $100 in new tubes and tires. The deck underside is clean and not all dented up. Everything is greased and ready to go and the mower comes with original instructions.
The closest comparable mower today, a rear discharge, made by Land Pride lists for $2800 plus tax, or around $2950 with 6.5% tax. A rear discharge mower can match an air tunnel mower like this one in dry conditions with grass of standard density when you are not cutting much off. However; for thick, taller, or damp grass conditions, like we often have in the Midwest, the air tunnel design in this mower is superior. The reason Land Pride makes rear discharges today, and not air tunnels, is that they cost less to make, not that they cut better in tough conditions. This air tunnel 72 inch mower in excellent, ready to go condition is priced at $1450, about 50% of the cost of a new mower.
