We are
pleased to announce that we are organizing the 8th annual Great
American Miniature Donkey Sale, a select sale featuring quality,
registered miniature donkeys. The
Sale will take place Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 12:30 PM, at the fairgrounds
in historic Lebanon, Ohio.
We are
targeting to offer approximately 55 miniature donkey jennets at
this sale. It is anticipated there will be a mix of young jennets,
bred jennets, and jennets with foals at the side. We may accept a well
trained gelding driving team or trained gelding with a complete driving
package. No jacks will be accepted. Our intent is to sponsor an auction
sale featuring diverse bloodlines, great conformation, sought after colors,
and a variety of sizes and ages to attract breeders, show people, and
donkey & equine lovers everywhere.
We are seeking consignors interested in offering high quality miniature
donkeys for breeding and show stock. No farm can offer the diversity
that a number of breeders together can offer. Whether your farm is well-known
or not, whether you have a few or many donkeys, please consider consigning
to this event. We will select the best from those submitted to create
an exciting sale. We are enthusiastic that this sale will showcase the
wonderful quality that breeders are striving for in Miniature Donkeys.
Lebanon’s central location is within a day’s
drive from 70% of the US Population. There are numerous farms, large
and small in this region, where people can happily make miniature donkeys
part of their lives. For those who want to be active with their donkeys,
there is a busy show circuit, with show opportunities available from
May through September. Many communities sponsor carriage parades and
welcome miniatures.
Last year,
the Sale drew consignors from across North America, from the West
Coast to the Northeast, and Alberta to Texas. With well
connected air and land routes, we expect to draw consignors & buyers
from across our Continent and Europe once again. The exposure you receive
by participating in this sale is valuable advertising for your farm or
ranch, and goes well beyond just the sale days.
We hope you will consider
supporting The Great American Donkey Sale by consigning some
of your best donkeys. Consignment details
are attached (deadline Friday, March 5, 2010). This a great opportunity
to advertise your farm / ranch and showcase your breeding program to hundreds
of miniature donkey owners, breeders, and enthusiasts throughout North
America. Select sales stimulate the donkey industry, provide
an opportunity to learn from others and share experiences, and provide
a benchmark for prices you will receive on your farm / ranch in the
future.
